Weekly Crash Trends

Monitor weekly crash trends statewide, 6 Bay Area counties, or 5 Southern California counties.

The Weekly Crash Trends displays crash counts derived from final and provisional SWITRS data. The line chart highlights how the current year compares with previous years.

By default, the dashboard opens to statewide crashes, but you can change to 6 Bay Area counties or 5 Southern California counties.

  1. Select a geography (Statewide, 6 Bay Area counties, or 5 Southern California counties) in the filter drawer.
  2. Choose a severity measure: Collisions, Fatalities, Serious Injuries, or Fatal and Serious Injuries (FSI).
  3. Use the tabs above the chart—Overall Summary, By Primary Collision Factor, By Ped & Bike, and By Severity—to switch between perspectives on the weekly data.

Open the download menu above the data table to export the current view as CSV or Excel.
