Overview
The SWITRS Summary tool provides a streamlined view of statewide, county, and city crash trends based on SWITRS data. It is a fast way to answer high-level questions such as “How many fatal crashes occurred last year?” or “Which cities have seen the largest increase in serious injuries?”
Open the tool from the Crash Summaries menu or visit SWITRS Summary.
Selecting filters
The filter bar runs along the top of the tool. Use it to refine the dataset before you explore the summary tables.
- Severity: Toggle between fatalities only, fatalities and serious injuries (FSI), or fatalities and any level of injuries.
- Year Range: Choose recent 10, 5 or 3 years. The default view includes the five most recent finalized years.
- Geography: Start with statewide totals, and by county, with an option to switch to city.
Tip
Use the Expand All Tables checkbox to show all summary tables by crash characteristics to quickly compare factors across geographies.
